There are few places in the world – I think – that boast this spectacular a view. They may have golden beaches, azure seas or astonishing skyscrapers, but when it comes to dramatic skylines and special vistas I think we do pretty well. Sitting perched up on its rock, Edinburgh Castle provides a focal point for the camera lenses of all those visiting (and some of us who stay here) – a skyline made up of one building. This particular view I especially like. Out over Princes Street Gardens, it shows the hustle and bustle of today, it speaks of the sacrifices that got us here in the Royal Scots Greys monument, and of the natural history we all sit on.
Most of all, it’s simply just a fantastic view!
